ADDIE'S PADDIES

 In August of 2010, we rescued Addie,

from the Humane Society.

She was a malnourished sweetie,
with an injured hip, a victim of animal abuse. Because of her injuries, she had problems with digestion, as well as retaining weight.  For her, we had to come up with a higher calorie treat.   Because of her injuries, she had serious digestive issues.  Grinding up her food in a food processor, and adding a bit of water, helped her keep the food down, but she was still underweight.   She needed a treat that was high in calories to help her put on weight.

BAGEL'S BISCUITS

We adopted Joey Bagel, from the Humane Society, in September 2006.  He was an abused dog with a broken tail, but NOT a Broken Spirit. After several months of tender loving care, he soon fit into the roll of "King of the Castle". Along with that roll, came another one…on his belly! Joey's appetite helped him gain a rotund middle section!  It was important to create a treat that would help combat his escalating weight.  It had to be delicious, but lower in calories, high in vitamins and high in fiber.  We also chose to use a Gluten Free Flour, because Joey tended to "itch" from many treats.  Staying away from the wheat and oats for this recipe and opting for all gluten free products, has made a tremendous impact on his diet and his health.​
